An electron with a horizontal speed of 3.3 x 106m/s and no vertical component of velocity passes through two horizontal parallel plates, as shown in the diagram below. The magnitude of the electric field between the plates is 180 N/C. The plates are 7.5cm long.

Calculate the vertical component of the electron after it leaves the plates.

Calculate the final velocity of the electron.
