Question: A plane is seen travelling eastward at an airspeed of 455km/h. Wind is blowing southward at 92 km/h.

(a) Calculate the velocity of the plane relative to the ground.

(b) If the airspeed is the same, calculate the direction in which the plane must head in order to move due east relative to the earth.

(c) Calculate the plane's eastward speed in part (b).

(d) A second plane is moving in a direction of 35o east of north (away from origin) with a speed of 505km/h. Find the velocity of this plane relative to the first plane as considered in part (b).
