What-if Kiddomatics, an after-school program, can host up to 110 kids.

Generally, each year, 140 kids apply.

When an application is accepted, the family is charged $175 per child-application.

Out of those accepted applications 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or even 10% eventually withdraw their applications. Those who withdraw are reimbursed but charged $40 as a processing fee.

This year Kiddomatiks considers overbooking. However, it has been estimated that accepting an application and then refusing the child costs a full refund but also $100 in bad reputation.

a. Create a spreadsheet template to calculate the total revenue of Kiddomatics based on application fees, refunds, penalty fees, and reputation cost. (For the number of withdrawals, use the ROUND function). What is the revenue for different levels of withdrawal if Kiddomatiks does not overbook?

b. Conduct a what-if analysis with two criteria (number of accepted applications, and different rates of withdrawal.) And make comments on the number of applications Kiddomatics should accept. What levels of overbooking would generate more revenue than not overbooking?
