A magnetically levitated train starts from rest on a 7000.0 m track. The train undergoes a constant, positive acceleration to the halfway point to reach a speed of 144 m/s. It then (in an instant) changes to a constant, negative acceleration (having the same magnitude as the previous positive acceleration) to come to rest at the very end of the track.

a. Determine the acceleration for both the first and second parts of the trip.

b. Calculate the time for each segment of the trip.
