Prepare 100-mL of 0.7 M hydrochloric acid solution by diluting an appropriate volume of either 3.0 M or 6.0 M hydrochloric acid solution. Use this dilute solution to titrate a known mass (between 1 and 1.5 g) of strontium hydroxide octahydrate dissolved in about 50 mL of deionized water. Use appropriate glassware for the titration that will enable you to swirl without losing solution. Include a description of what you do to prepare the solution as well as all necessary data and calculations. Use phenolphthalein solution as the indicator for this reaction. Record all titration data. Conduct at least two titrations.
When the reaction is complete, transfer the contents of the reaction glassware to a beaker to test its electrical conductivity.
