Task

The bridge supports a Variable action of ML KN-m. At the center of the span the prestressing force of P KN is located at e mm from the soffit of the beam. Estimate the stress at the center of the span section of the beam for the following load conditions
a) Self weight + Prestressed; b) Self weight + variable load + Prestress. and discuss which loading condition is suitable for the design of Bridge.
Question 2: Design a car parking for MEC College office of dean and deputy dean by using yield line theory. This is supported as shown in figure below consider the probable yield line pattern and find the yield line moment m Kn-m. This is having dimensions as BxL and total ultimate load of n KN/m2. Illustrate the locations of plastic hinge and the ultimate collapse load by using yield line theory.

The details of the assessment are as follows:
a) In order to find out whether this I-unsymmetrical beam-girder bridge is stable, students must analyze for respective external load on it with check the permissible limit of stress in tension and compression
