Continueing its monitoring of the blackness of the newpaper print, first described in the Chapter 6 Managing the Springville Heraldcase, the production department of the newspaper wants to ensure that the mean blackness of the print for all newspapers is at least 0.97 on a standard scale in which the target value is 1.0. A random sample of 50 newspapers has been selected, and the blackness of each paper has been measured. Using PhStat, calculate the sample statistics and determine whether there is evidence that the mean blackness is less than 0.97. Write a memo to management that summarizes your conclusions.
