Problem 1

The full-bridge inverter in Figure 6.3a has an RLC load with R = 6.5 _, L = 10 mH, and C = 26 _F. The inverter frequency, fo= 400 Hz, and the dc input voltage, Vs = 220 V.

(a) Express the instantaneous load current in a Fourier series.

Calculate (b) the rms load current at the fundamental frequency I1; (c) the THD of the load current; (d) the average supply current Is; and (e) the average, rms, and peak currents of each transistor.

Use Matlab Simulation to solve question.

Problem 2

A series resonant inverter with parallel-loaded delivers a load power of PL - 2 kW at a peak sinusoidal load voltage of Vp= 330 V and at resonance. The load resistance is R = 5 _. The resonant frequency is f0 = 25 kHz.

Determine (a) the dc input voltage Vs, (b) the frequency ratio u if it is required to reduce the load power to 500 W by frequency control, (c) the inductor L, and (d) the capacitor C. Use Matlab Simulation to solve question.
