Case: Sivak-Sears and colleagues (2004) conducted a case-control study to investigate the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, and glioblastoma multiforme, the most common primary malignant brain tumor that is associated with high mortality. Cases were newly diagnosed in six San Francisco Bay Area counties and were rapidly ascertained. Controls were matched according to age, gender, and ethnicity and were obtained using random-digit dialing (a method for obtaining a random sample of non-diseased controls from the community). Assume the table below shows results from the study.
