A dam project specifies 97% compaction. Lab tests on the soil being used indicate that it has a maximum dry density of 1900 kg/m3 at an optimum water content of 13.2%. Field tests give the following results: Field dry density is 1790 kg/m3 and 16.5% water content. Calculate the relative compaction.
