Question 1

Two power stations, A and B, work at 72 kV and deliver power to their respective consumers as follows:

Power station B: 820 MVA at power factor of 0.88 lagging

Power station A: 680 MVA at power factor of 0.77 lagging

An inter-connector with impedance of (1.6+j6.4) ? per line is connected between power station A and power station B. The voltage at power station A is advanced with angle of 8 º with respect to the voltage at power station B.

1.1 Use the complex power method to calculate the active and reactive power received and transferred

1.2 Calculate the real and reactive power losses in the transmission line
