Learning Outcomes - On completion of this unit you should be able to:

3. Assess the interdependent relationships between the components of the business logistics system, including cross-boundary logistics activities.
Assignment 1: Essay
Task description & requirements - Write a structured essay to discuss how customer satisfaction with a company's logistics services can be increased by improving the customer order cycle. Include practical examples from a company with which you are familiar to illustrate your answer.
A minimum of 15 references is required.
Assignment 2: Case study
Task description & requirements - Complete the following tasks based on the attached case study Performance control at Happy Chips, Inc (Bowersox et al., 2013, pp.462-464), knowledge learned in this unit and other relevant information.
1. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of activity-based costing and segment profitability analysis.
2. Calculate the profitability for each of Happy Chips' business segments based on the provided cost information (Note: Include key steps for profitability calculation).
3. Discuss whether Happy Chips should consider the changes desired by Buy 4 less. Justify your answer.
4. Based on your analysis, provide recommendations to improve its segment profitability. Justify your recommendations.
