All continued to be ill on October 1, but all 20 recovered within three days of illness onset. On October 14, 10 more students developed gastroenteritis. All of these students continued to be ill on October 15, but all recovered five days later. In this example, assume that everyone is at risk of developing gastroenteritis, and each person could develop gastroenteritis more than once in a month.

(a) Calculate the prevalence of gastroenteritis in the class on October 1, and state its meaning in a sentence.

(b) Calculate the prevalence of gastroenteritis in the class on October 30, and state its meaning in a sentence.

(c) Calculate the incidence of gastroenteritis in the class during the month of October, and state its meaning in a sentence.
