A room 7m x 6m x 3m high is to be electically heated to maintain the inside temperature at 20 C, when it is 0 C outside. The room has 2 windows each 1.2m x 1.8m and a sliding glass door 2.4m x 2.1m. The transmission coefficients u in Wm^2/C are given below.
Floor: concrete slab (100mm thick) : 11.5 W/m^2/C
Walls: Cavity Brick (280mm thick) : 2.0 W/m^2/C
Windows and door (Single glazed) : 5.8 W/m^2/C
Ceiling: (do not consider a roof) : 1.0 W/m^2/C
Ignore the effects of furnishings, presence of humans, orientation to sun or any wind exposure
Assume:
There is no requirement to heat the air in the room
Calculate the power rating of the electric heater required to maintain the required temperature.
You are required to tabulate your calculations providing one row for each part of the buildings structure and column headings of area, u and heat loss. The total heat loss should be provided at the bottom of the table. Provide a table number and a suitable caption for your table.
How did you determine the area of the walls ?
What is its speed at the point that the force resisting
: This problem models an insertion process. Block A (mA = 2kg) is acted on by a horizontal force F (F = 12 N). As A moves to the right, it gets pressed more and more tightly in the channel.

How long will it take for the pce to reach the well
: The water is pumped out of the aquifer at a rate of 2000 gpd, treat it with activated carbon and then put it back into the aquifer. At the flow rate how long until al the PCE is removed, assume carbon removed 100% of the PCE (ans. 54 days)

How long will it take the water in the aquifer to travel
: A truck spils 1 gallon of benzene into an aquifer with an area= 50ft^2 Benzene has a solubility of 1750 ppm, and a specific gravity of 0.873. The aquifer ahs a porosity of 0.25, a hydraulic gradient of 0.004 and a hydraulic conductivity of 1000 gpd/f..

Determine the speed of the arrow after traveling from rest
: A bowstring produces a force against a 2.0 oz arrow given by where a = 40 lbf, b = 3.2 ft-1 and x is in ft. x = 0 when the arrow is pulled fully back and increases as the arrow moves forward. Determine the speed of the arrow after traveling from rest..

What input of power rating is required for the pump
: A water storage tank located on a larege dairy farm has a storage capacity of 0.1 ML. The average rate of water consumption from this tank is 6.25 kL per day, every day.

What temperature will the chip be operating at when the fan
: An electronic chip internally generates 1.5 Watts of heat energy that must be dissipated to ensure its reliable operation. A fan, with an exposed area of 10cm^2 is attached to the chip so the heat can be transferred away by convection.

Calculate the final temperature of the gas
: A well-insulated rigid vessel of volume 0.2 m^3 is divided into two equal compartments by thin diaphragm, as illustrated in the accompanying figure. One of the compartments is a vacuum

Determine the corresponding increase in water temperature
: Water flows over a waterfall that is 60m high. Assuming that all of the potential energy of the water at the top of the fall is converted to an increase in internal energy at the bottom of the fall
