Assignment:

A small pool fire at floor level has a total heat release rate of approximately 130kW. Calculate using analytical equations derived from the ideal plume theory the mass flow into the plume at heights of 3 m and 5m above the floor. Also calculate the plume Temperatures at these heights. Assume that 30% of the energy is lost by radiation to the flames. Ambient air temperature and density is estimated at 293 K and 1.2 kg/m3 respectively whilst the air specific heat capacity may be assumed to be 1kJ/kg K. State any other assumptions in your answer.
