In a random sample of Eurelian students taken in 1996 there were 210 who intended to live in Eurelia after graduation, and 140 who intended to emigrate. A random sample of Eurelian students taken in 2001 included 252 who intended to live in Eurelia after graduation, and 148 who did not.

a) In the five-year period is the increase in proportion of those who intend to live in Eurelia after graduation statistically significant? Use a 5% significance level.

b) Calculate the p-value for the test in a).

c) Suppose the conclusion the sample leads to in a) is erroneous. Is the error Type I or Type II?
