A blood sample containing salbutamol salt HCl is analysed in the pharmaceutical laboratory.

a) Calculate the molecular weight of salbutamol HCl salt .

b) To determine the concentration of salbutamol in the blood sample ,first need to prepare stoke solution of salbutamol in water by weighing 3.25 mg of salbutamol salt and dissolving into the appropriate volume. determine the volume of water needed to dissolve the 3.25 mg to achieve a stock solution concentration of 1.178 x10- 4 .

c) The stoke solution prepared in section b was futher used to prepare five solution ( 10 ml total volume ) of different concentration by pipetting alquots of 2 ml. calculate the concentration of each of the newly prepared five solution in molarity (M) units.

d) Lastly, the blood sample containing salbutamol was analysed. The concentration of salbutamol salt in the blood sample was determined to be 2.12 x 10-6 M. Calculate the number of micrograms of salbutamol salt present in the blood sample if the volume of the sample was 10 ml.
