Question: Rework Problem changing the fasteners to - diameter A490-X bolts.

Problem: Two ASTM A36 steel plates, each 12 in. by , 1 2 in. are connected by a lap joint. The fasteners are 3 4 -in-diameter A325-N high-strength bolts. The connection is subjected to an axial tensile load of 100 kips. Calculate the number of bolts required for the connection and sketch the bolt layout pattern.
