Scenario A

Calculate the number and type of storage units for the following scenario. Key your answers in the designated space.

Assume that 3 linear inches will be left in each drawer or on each shelf to allow space for storing and retrieving records and that file cabinets or shelves are of the dimensions illustrated in Chapter 6 of the textbook. Round answers to the next whole number (regardless of the fractional part).

Calculate the amount of total floor space required by the equipment selected. Include drawer-pull space but not aisle space. Round your answer to the nearest square foot.

Scenario: A medical clinic stores patient files in an area with open access to people other than filers. A limited amount of aisle space is available for the storage cabinets. Currently, 1,857 linear inches of records, including guides and folders, are stored in the clinic.
