A quick service restaurant is considering changing the number of process steps necessary in assembling a burger. Currently the assembly process requires four steps, each of which operates at the 4 sigma quality level. It is expected that after increasing the number of process steps to eight, the quality level will increase to a 5.5 sigma level. Calculate the net gain or loss in the final quality level if the restaurant proceeds with the change in the number of process steps.
