A fresh pumpkin has a mass of 2.44 kg is droped from above the ground. Ignore air friction. Let the positive y-axis point down. The speed of the pumpkin just before striking the ground is 6 m/s. The pumpkin bounces and leaves the ground with a speed of 1 m/s. Calculate the momentum change of the pumpkin during the collision in kg•m/s including the correct sign.

Assume that the pumpkin is in contact with the ground for 8 milliseconds and calculate the magnitude of the average force (in Newtons) exerted on the pumpkin.
