A uniform meter stick of mass M has ahalf-filled can of fruit juice of mass m attached to oneend. The meter stick and the can balance at a point 21.7 cm fromthe end of the stick where the can is attached. When the balancedstick-can system is suspended from a scale, the reading on thescale is 2.49 N.

Calculate themass of the meter stick.
