Two children stand on opposite sides of a merry-go-round of diameter 6.0 m which is rotating at an angular velocity 12 revolutions per minute. One child throws a ball of mass m=0.50 kg at a speed v=6.0m/s directly toward the other child.

a) Calculate the magnitude of the Coriolis force acting on the moving ball due to the rotation of the merry-go-round,

b) Determine the distance by which the ball misses the second child, i.e., the lateral deflection of the ball after it has traveled across the merry-go-round.
