A pendulum is made up of a 2.0 kilogram mass suspended on a thin aluminum wire. This pendulum has a period of exactly 4.0 second when operated near the equator at a temperature of 122oF. The pendulum is then moved to an Antarctic weather station where the temperature is -49oF. The linear coefficient of thermal expansion for aluminum is 24 x 10-6/oC.

a. Compute the length of the pendulum wire at the equator?

b. Compute the period of the pendulum at the Antarctic weather station?
