Question - A 50 Ω transmission line has a load impedance of 100 Ω. Assume the frequency is 10 GHz and the propagation constant on the line is β = ko√2 = 2π/λg, where ko = 2π/λo is the free-space wave number, λo is the free-space wavelength, and λg is the wavelength along the line. The lengths d1 and d2 are 3/8 λg.
(a) Find the value of a capacitors, C1 and C2 that will match the 100 ohm load to the 50 ohm transmission line; i.e., there is to be no reflected power back to the generator at 10 GHz. (Note that C1 and C2 are generic and in fact may be inductors. You need to calculate their values in either Farad or Henry.)
(b) Calculate the input impedance Zin as a function of frequency between 9 and 11 GHz.
(c) Assuming the generator delivers 1 watt of power to the load at 10 GHz, calculate the power transmitted to the load as a function of frequency between 9 and 11 GHz.
