Please show the necessary problem-solving steps for each problem.

Question 1. (a) A hollow air cored inductor coil consists of 500 turns of copper wire which produces a maximum magnetic flux of 10mWb when passing a current (peak) of 10 amps. Calculate the inductance of the coil in milli-Henries.

(b) When a ferromagnetic object is moved closely to the sensor, the maximum magnetic flux drops to 5mWB. Find the change in the inductance value.

Question 2. What will be the change in resistance of an electrical resistance strain gauge with a gauge factor of 2.1 and resistance 50 Ω if it is subject to a strain of 0.001?

Question 3. (a) Explain nonlinearity error.

(b) Given: Potentiometer slider at half of its maximum slider travel, resistance (Rp) = 100 Ω, load resistance (RL) = 10 kΩ, supply voltage (VS) = 6 V. Find the load voltage VL.

(c) Keep the rest conditions unchanged. Find the expression of nonlinearity error with respect to load resistance. And use a line chart to show the relationship when load resistance varies from 1 kΩ to 10 kΩ.

Question 4. Given an accelerometer with 4 sets of comb and have the following parameters: d1=d2=4mm, A=120mm2, mass =2.5x10-10 kg, k=5.6N/m, Vs=5V, ε0 = 8.85 × 10-12 F/m and the median between the plates is air. Find the (1) displacement of the plate, (2) the capacitance sensitivity and (3) the voltage output under 50g acceleration.

Question 5. A quartz (Piezoelectric sensor) is used for force measurement. The sensor has an area of 10mm x 10mm, a thickness of 5mm, and ε0 = 8.85 × 10-12 F/m. If the applied force is F(t) = 3 sin(2Πt) N, where 0 < t < 10s . Find the corresponding voltage output and try to draw it into graph.

Question 6. A gearbox has input gear of 20 teeth and output gear of 60 teeth. The moment of inertia of the load is 0.25kg m2 and the moment of inertia of the motor shaft is 0.24 k m2 Please (1) find the power needed to accelerate the system at 0.1 rad/s2 at angular speed of 0.8 rad/s as a whole, (2) find the torque of the load and the motor shaft.
