A 10 kwatt, 480V , single phase 60Hz, 24 pole motor has an stator winding resistance of 0.1 ohm from line-to-neutral. The rotor is not a permanent magnet but a separately powered electromagnet (field wind-ings) that takes .5 A at 120 V. (The power to run this field is considered a loss) The friction losses, in-cluding windage, are 15 kW. The core losses are 20 kW. a) Determine the output (line ) current based on input wattage and voltage. b) Calculate the I2R resistance loss due to the field windings and the I2R loss due to the main windings. c) Determine the output power (kW) d) Calculate the efficiency.
