The planned development site of a residential neighborhood includes 4km^2 of forest habitat and 5000m^2 of stream habitat. Engineers plan to clear-cut the forest and construct a culvert that will bury the stream underground. To mitigate the loss of natural habitat, the developers will construct a 0.75km^2 wetland at the outlet of the culvert.
