A bioengineer is trying to determine the amount of gap developed between bone and cement when a femoral hip is placed. The system is assumed to consist of concentric cylinders. Calculate the gap developed between bone and cement if the temperatures of cement, implant, and bone reach 55, 50, and 45 degrees C, respectively, throughout each component uniformly (assume that the alpha value of the implant is 17x10^-6). Bone (4mm thick), Cement (3mm thick), and metal implant (15 mm thick).
