Question

A ladder with a mass of 4 Kg and 5m long is leaning on the wall. An object with a mass of 50 Kg is placed on the ladder at 1.5 m from the floor. Assume there is no friction between the ladder and the wall.

a) Calculate the friction force between the ladder and the floor if the angle between the floor and the ladder is 30 degrees.

b) Calculate the friction force when the object is moved to the 2 m mark from the floor.
