Consider the two-bar truss shown in the figure below, subject to a concentrated load F. Both bars have the same cross-sectional area A1=A2=A. As well, θ1=θ2=θ, and the dimension L is constant. Assume the bars are made of the same material with elastic modulus E.

(a) Analyze the model shown and calculate the forces and stresses in each bar (leave in terms of F, A and θ).

(b) Calculate horizontal and vertical displacements of the load point, u_xand u_y respectively (use virtual work). They should be in terms of F, A, θ, L, and E.
