A lab team rides a ski lift to the top of the mountain, due to some congestion their ears fail to pop, that is the pressure inside the ear does not equalize with the outside atmosphere. On a calm day the atmospheric pressure at the base of the mountain is 1.01X10^5 Pa and .998X10^5 Pa at the top of the lift. a) Find the difference in altitude between the base and the top. b) On this particular day it is calm at the base, but there is a 21.4 m/s wind at the top of the lift. Calculate the force on the eardrum (the average diameter of the eardrum is .3 cm).
