1. A metal rod (2.4 kg, 1.5 m long) is rotating about an axis through its center 20.0 rad/s. Calculate its rotational kinetic energy. The rod's moment of inertia is given by I = (1/12)ML^2.

2. Suppose this rod can expand in sections like an umbrella shaft. Calculate the final angular speed if it expands in a totaly length of 2.0 m while rotating, assuming its angular momentum is conserved.
