A researcher is exploring the effects of strenuous physical exercise on the onset of puberty in girls. The age of menarche is determined for six young athletes who started serious training before the age of 8. For comparison, the same measure is taken on four girls involved in a equally serious and time consuming training regimen starting at the same age but not involving such strenuous physical exercise- playing the violin. An additional seven girls not involved in any such training are included as a control group. The data are as follows:
