A rigid vessel contains a 20% rich mixture of carbon monoxide and air at a temperature of 700°K and a pressure of 8.6 atmospheres absolute. The mixture is ignited and burns without heat loss to a temperature of 3,000°K.

Calculate:

(a) The degree of dissociation of the carbon dioxide at 3,000°K.

(b) The equilibrium constant
