Propagation through lossless slab. A lossless dielectric layer of thickness d and material constants ε1 and μ1 is given. The dielectric is in free space (Figure 13.34). Assume a plane wave at frequency f impinges on the dielectric (perpendicular to the surface) from the left. Calculate the electric field intensity in materials (1), (2), and (3) and the slab reflection and transmission coefficients.
