Consider a uniform ring of charge, radius 'a' surrounded by n air gap a < r < b. the air gap is enclosed within a halo like disk b < r < c. The uniform surface charge densities on the center disk and the surrounding halo are the same.

The z direction is out of the plane of the paper.

Part a. Calculate the electric field intensity at a distance 'd' along the z-axis in terms of a,b,c, and d. Explain your reasoning. This result should be analytic.

Part b. Calculate the electric field intensity at a point off the z-axis at some z distance 'd' from the co¬ordinate origin.
