A Carnot engine operates between Th = 45 degrees Celsius using 1.000 mole of Neon (a monoatomic gas with CV = 3/2R) The initial pressure is 1.00 bar and the initial volume is 24.8 L. During the initial expansion, the volume changes to 50.0 L. Calculate w, q, and deltaU for the cycle. (Hint: not all steps of the Carnot Cycle need to be calculated for this)

Calculate the efficiency of the engine

If we needed to design an engine with an efficiency of 18%, what changes would need to be made to the current design to achieve this?

If the gas were changes to Nitrogen (an ideal diatomic gas with CV = 5/2R) what affect would this have on the work this engine could perform?
