Aluminum atoms have a radius of 0.1431 nm and they form into face-centered cubic (FCC) crystals.

(a) Calculate the density, in gram/cm3, of a perfect aluminum crystal assuming that that there are no vacancies. Give an answer with at least four significant figures.

b) At the same temperature as in part (a), the density of a real aluminum crystal was measured and found to be to be 2.670 gram/cm3.

Assume that the difference between this value, and the one calculated in part (a) is entirely due to vacancies. Calculate the fraction of vacant sites.

(c) Calculate the number of vacant sites per cm3
