A passenger car (the Aston Martin One-77) is equipped with a 7.312L V12 naturally-aspirated 4-stroke spark-ignition engine. The engine has a compression ratio of 10.9:1 and operates at 6500 rpm at peak power. The intake manifold conditions are 95 kPa and 40°C, and the exhaust manifold pressure is 105 kPa. Execute an ideal thermodynamic analysis of this engine at its peak power operating condition, modeling the cycle as an Otto cycle. You can assume a mechanical efficiency of 80% and a combustion efficiency of 99%. The engine is fueled with gasoline (lower heating value of 43,000 kJ/kg), at A/F (Air to Fuel) =14.6. Assume no exhaust residual and that there is no pressure loss across the intake or exhaust valves (cylinder conditions will be equal to the manifold conditions when the valves open).

a. Determine the peak pressure of the cycle. [kPa]
b. Calculate the cylinder gas temperature at the end of the exhaust blowdown process. [K]
c. Calculate the net work done by one cylinder during one cycle. [kJ]
d. Calculate the brake power output of the engine. [kW]
e. Calculate the indicated thermal efficiency of the engine. [-]
