In a torus of inner radius 1.0m and outer radius 1.5m, a toroidal magnetic field of strength 5.0 tesla is required in the middle (i.e at R = 1.25m). The number of turns of wire is 2000.

a. Calculate the current that must pass through the wire to produce the required magnetic field.

b. If the wire is made of copper and is of cross sectional area 1cm^2, what will be the total power loss (due to resistive heating) in the wire. The length of the wire may be taken to be 3000m, and the electrical resistivity of copper is 1.7 x 10 ^ 8 omh m.
