Construction on Hoover Dam was started in 1931 and finished in 1935, and the dam was in service from 1936. When completed, it was both the world's largest electric power producing facility and the world's largest concrete structure. It cost $165 million dollars to build (in 1935 dollars). The average annual net generation for Hoover Power plant for operating years 1947 through 1994 was about 4 billion kilowatt-hours. The operating cost during this period was 0.6 cents/kWhr (in 1990 dollars). The interest rate charged to the project was low, "not exceeding 3%." Given these facts, answer the following questions related to the Hoover Dam for its operation up to 1994 when the loan was fully repaid.
a) Calculate the Cost of Energy (COE) for the period 1947 to 1994. Assume an average annual inflation rate of 3.5% for converting between present value and past value.
b) If the interest rate were to have been 1.5 percentage points above the original rate, calculate the COE for the same period.
c) i) Given that government backed projects are able to obtain financing at lower interest rates than purely private projects, can you comment on the importance of government involvement in such large infrastructure projectsii) Why is the government able to get lower interest rates?iii) By what mechanism does the government do this?iv) who ultimately guarantees the loans?
A shunt-connected a DC motor has zero rotational losses and RA = 0. Assume that RA and Radj is constant [except in part (d)] and that φ is directly proportion to field current. For VT= 200 V and Pout = 2 hp.

An op-amp has an open-loop gain of 200 V/V. If this op-amp is used to build an inverting amplifier with an absolute gain of 50V/V: (a) What must the smaller resistor be adjusted to, if the larger resistor is 100 k
A uniform plane wave propogates in the positive z direction with a frequency of 20 MHz. A probe is at z=0 m measuring the phase to 98 degrees and another probe at z= 2 m measures the phase to be -15 degrees what is the relative dielectric constant..
A rectangular loop of wire containing a high resistance voltmeter has corners initially at (a/2, b/2, 0), (-a/2, b/2, 0), (-a/2, -b/2, 0) and (a/2,-b/2, 0). The loop begins to rotate about the x axis at constant angular velocity w.
First you must give all different possible connection types for them and then, for each case, you should develop some tests that can define the connection type and calculate the current passing through the capacitors.
A uniform plane electromagnetic wave propagates in a lossless dielectric medium. The electric field in the wave has the instantaneous expression E(z,t) = iy 3 sin(3pi.109t + 100piz 600), V/m. i) What is the frequency of the wave in Hz
