The Adelaide Show wishes to estimate the average amount that visitors spend at the Show. A simple random sample of 25 visitors found that the sample mean was $155 and the sample standard deviation was $80. Answer the questions below:

a) Calculate the 90% confidence interval.

b) What assumption have you made about the population distribution? Why?

c) If you wanted to make the confidence interval in a) narrower, what could you do to the confidence and sample size?

d) Carry out a hypothesis test to determine whether the population mean is different from $190.
