A mainland population of 10,000 ground beetles have the neutral alleles A1 and A2 with frequencies of A1 = 0.4 and A2 = 0.6. 16 male and 20 female beetles found a new population on Russell Island. The A1 and A2 neutral alleles are present in the island population with frequencies of A1 = 0.7 and A2 = 0.3. Migrants begin moving from the mainland to Russell Island at a rate of 2 migrants per generation.

a) Calculate the change in frequency of the A1 allele after one generation of migration
b) What will be the new frequency of the A1 allele in the island population after one generation of migration?
