Some research suggests that boot camp participants recidivate more than those who don't participate in boot camp. However, other research suggests that non-boot camp participates recidivate more than those who do participate in boot camp. In other words, the research is mixed, but you are expecting to see a difference between the two groups. Calculate the appropriate two-tailed t-test at the α = 0.05 level.

Independent variable: boot camp participation

Dependent variable: number of times recidivated

Boot Camp Participants                 Non-boot Camp Participants

Mean = 4.3                                         Mean = 16.1

Variance = 11.79                               Variance = 24.32
