a) Calculate the amount of dividends that would have to be paid on the preferred stock before a cash dividend could be paid on the common stockholders.

b) 4%, $30 par value preferred, 275.000 shares authorized, 152.000 shares issued, and 73.051 shares outstanding. (Round your answer to 2 decimal places).

c) 11.2% cumulative preferred, $120 stated value, $128 liquidating value, 58.000 shares authorized, 47.000 shares issued, 23.000 shares outstanding.

Cost of building purchase during 2020 = 47.800

Net income for for the year ended December 31, 2020 = 55.100

Dividends declared and paid in 2020 = 32.900

Increase in cash balance from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2020 = 23.500

Increase in long-term debt in 2020 = 44.200

-From the above data, calculate the retained earnings balance as of December 31, 2020
