A) Using the enthalpies of formation given below, calculate ΔH°rxn in kJ, for the following reaction.

Report your answer to two decimal places in standard notation.

CaO(s) + 2HCl(g) → CaCl2(s) + H2O(g)

CaO (s): -634.92 kJ/mol

HCl (g): -92.31 kJ/mol

CaCl2 (s): -795.80 kJ/mol

H2O (g): -241.83 kJ/mol

B) Calculate the amount of heat absorbed/released (in kJ) when 15.14 grams of CaCl2 are produced via the above reaction.

Report your answer to two decimal places, and use appropriate signs to indicate heat flow direction.

C)The enthalpy of combustion (ΔH°c) of 4-methyl-1-pentene (C6H12) is -3997.82 kJ/mol. Using the appropriate information given below, calculate the enthalpy of formation (ΔH°f), in kJ/mol, for 4-methyl-1-pentene.

Report your answer to two decimal places.

ΔH°f (CO2 (g)) = -393.51 kJ/mol

ΔH°f (H2O (l)) = -285.83 kJ/mol
