The vapor pressure of pure ethanol at 35°C is 102.8 torr and that of pure chloroform is 295.1 torr. In an ethanol-chloroform solution in which the mole fraction of ethanol is 0.20, the total vapor pressure is 304.2 torr, and the mole fraction of ethanol in the vapor is 0.138. Calculate the activity coefficients of the ethanol and the chloroform.
