A horizontal pre-stressing force of 750kn is applied to a rectangular concrete beam to be used as a structural member of a traffic bridge. The beam has a depth of 500mm and a width of 250mm. The force is applied at a distance of 80mm below the sections x-x axis.

Calculate the stress along the edge A-B caused by the applied prestressing force.

Calculation of bending stresses is not required.
