(Fig book, Design of Machinery)

With using the following data for the above diagram find Torque at O2, and forces at O2, A and B, also calculate shaking force and shaking torque.

Lengths in m, angles in degrees, angular velocity in rad/sec, angular acceleration in rad/sec2, mass in kg, moment of inertia in kg-m2, torque in N-m and forces in N. Consider the coefficient of friction µ between slider and ground to be 0.10.

Take θ2 as last two digit of your ID (if last two digits are less than 10, then add 10 with it, if ID contains character at the end, consider the 2 digits before the character for θ2, as example, for ID, 715917X, θ2 will be 17) and take positive θ2 for even ID No. and negative θ2 for odd ID no.

Use the normal convention for each of the unit and the position. Consider only the open case.

(Hints: first find different angles, angular velocities, angular accelerations, develop equation like (11.10g), use matrix calculation and finally compare your results with Crank-Slider program, need to use from the CD supplied with the text Book.).

Marks will be allocated as:

1. Position analysis (θ)

2. Velocity Analysis (ω)

3. Acceleration Analysis (α)

4. Equation formation (11.10 g)

5. Results (Forces and Torque)

6. Compare results (matrix formation, Forces and Torque) with Slider Program

7. Shaking force and moments
